Coaching Services
Map your own path to the life you want to be living.
I offer one-to-one coaching sessions via online video conferencing or over the phone, or I can offer in-person walking coaching sessions in my local fells. Standard sessions each last 60 minutes – if you want to explore your thinking in a longer-form session, please get in touch and we can discuss options.
Before committing to our sessions together we’ll schedule an initial conversation to establish a sense of what you’re keen to achieve through coaching, let you know what to expect from the coaching process and to give you an opportunity to decide if I’m the right coach for you.
FAQs

Where are you now, where do you want to be, and how are you going to get there?
Coaching is not about receiving therapy, advice or being mentored. It's about enabling you to identify and clarify your own goals and develop your own plans towards achieving these; establishing where you are now, where you'd like to be, working to find your best path to get there, and tackling whatever it is that's holding you back along the way.
As your coach I will neither advise nor guide but rather, in a series of structured conversations, I will create a productive, focused space within which you can explore and pursue your own thinking and solutions.

Practically, coaching takes the form of a series of structured conversations. Each session I will provide a productive, focused space within which you can explore and pursue your own thinking and solutions. It is likely that our first session will be spent identifying and clarifying the goal you want to work towards through coaching, with subsequent sessions focussed on the work needed to achieve that goal.
I will listen attentively to you, reflect and paraphrase your thoughts so you can hear these and evaluate them for yourself, and ask focussed questions to aid the development of your thinking and plans. Between sessions I may share resources that relate to the questions you’re asking yourself. I’m here as your coach to guide you through a process that will provide you with new perspectives on yourself, your life, and your options, and give you the courage and clarity to be able to move forward with purpose to achieving your goals.

This is very much a how long is a piece of string question and the answer is different for everyone. In general it takes a couple of sessions to really gain clarity on what you’re wanting to achieve and then start taking steps to achieving it. I recommend my clients commit to a minimum of three sessions and then assess from there what shape they want their coaching work to take.
Frequency of sessions will depend a little on your availability and resources as well as the timeframe of the goal you’re working towards. If you want to have achieved your goal within the month, then weekly sessions are likely to be most helpful. If you’re working on a longer-term goal, you may find fortnightly or even monthly sessions suit you better. Everyone’s different though and we can continue to reassess as we go.

Your own goals and your solutions to the obstacles standing between you and that goal will be unique to you. But to give you a flavour, here are some of the things my clients bring to me.
I’ve worked with people looking to improve their productivity, tackling a task that seems impossibly massive, and seeking the confidence to take on a promotion at work. I’ve worked with people returning to work from maternity leave, navigating a shift in their priorities, with women looking to regain their sense of self and of body confidence, and with the mothers of teenage children wanting to carve out more time for themselves.
I’ve worked with people growing their new business and with people restructuring established businesses. I’ve worked with people wanting to better integrate a love of the outdoors into the fabric of their lives, and with people relocating to new countries. I’ve worked with musicians considering leaving a performing career, with performers at the start of their careers seeking greater autonomy and agency, and with people in wanting to make intentional choices about the role their work plays in their life.
Whatever it is you’re working towards, I’m excited to work with you to develop your own sense of clarity and purpose through our coaching sessions together.
